Hymnus
Rerum, Deus, tenax vigor,
Immótus in te pérmanens,
Lucis diúrnæ témpora
Succéssibus detérminans:
Largíre lumen véspere,
Quo vita nusquam décidat,
Sed prǽmium mortis sacræ
Perénnis instet glória.
Præsta, Pater piíssime,
Patríque compar Únice,
Cum Spíritu Paráclito
Regnans per omne sǽculum.
Amen.
O strength and stay upholding all creation,
Who ever dost thyself unmoved abide,
Yet day by day the light in due gradation
From hour to hour through all its changes guide:
Grant to life’s day a calm unclouded ending,
An eve untouched by shadows of decay,
The brightness of a holy death-bed blending
With dawning glories of th’ eternal day.
Hear us, O Father, gracious and forgiving,
And thou, O Christ, the co-eternal Word,
Who, with the Holy Ghost, by all things living
Now and to endless ages art adored.
Amen.

Psalmus 88(2-19)
Psalm 88(2-19)
88:2 Misericórdias Dómini * in ætérnum cantábo.
88:2 In generatiónem et generatiónem * annuntiábo veritátem tuam in ore meo.
88:3 Quóniam dixísti: In ætérnum misericórdia ædificábitur in cælis: * præparábitur véritas tua in eis.
88:4 Dispósui testaméntum eléctis meis, iurávi David, servo meo: * Usque in ætérnum præparábo semen tuum.
88:5 Et ædificábo in generatiónem et generatiónem * sedem tuam.
88:6 Confitebúntur cæli mirabília tua, Dómine: * étenim veritátem tuam in ecclésia sanctórum.
88:7 Quóniam quis in núbibus æquábitur Dómino: * símilis erit Deo in fíliis Dei?
88:11 Tu humiliásti sicut vulnerátum, supérbum: * in brácchio virtútis tuæ dispersísti inimícos tuos.
88:16 Dómine, in lúmine vultus tui ambulábunt, et in nómine tuo exsultábunt tota die: * et in iustítia tua exaltabúntur.
88:18 Quóniam glória virtútis eórum tu es: * et in beneplácito tuo exaltábitur cornu nostrum.
88:2 The mercies of the Lord * I will sing for ever.
88:2 From generation to generation * I will announce your truth with my mouth.
88:3 For you have said: Mercy shall be built up for ever in the heavens: * your truth shall be prepared in them.
88:4 I have made a covenant with my chosen ones, I have sworn to David my servant: * I will prepare your seed for ever.
88:5 And I will build up your throne * from generation to generation.
88:6 The heavens shall confess your wonders, O Lord: * and your truth in the assembly of the saints.
88:7 For who in the clouds can be compared to the Lord: * or who among the sons of God shall be like God?
88:8 God, who is glorified in the council of the saints: * great and terrible above all that are round about him.
88:9 O Lord, God of hosts, who is like you? * You are mighty, O Lord, and your truth is round about you.
88:10 You rule the power of the sea: * and you still the motion of its waves.
88:11 You have humbled the proud one as one that is wounded: * with the arm of your strength you have scattered your enemies.
88:12 Yours are the heavens, and yours is the earth: the world and the fullness thereof you have founded: * the north and the sea you have created.
88:13 Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in your name: * your arm is with power.
88:14 Let your hand be strengthened, and your right hand exalted: * justice and judgment are the preparation of your throne.
88:15 Mercy and truth shall go before your face: * blessed is the people that knows jubilation.
88:16 O Lord, in the light of your countenance they shall walk, and in your name they shall rejoice all the day: * and in your justice they shall be exalted.
88:18 For you are the glory of their strength: * and in your good pleasure our horn shall be exalted.
88:19 For our defense is of the Lord, * and of the Holy One of Israel, our king.
℣ Glória Patri, et Fílio, * et Spirítui Sancto.
℣ Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Spirit.
℟ Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
℟ As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, * world without end. Amen.
Psalmus 88(20-38)
Psalm 88(20-38)
88:20 Tunc locútus es in visióne sanctis tuis, et dixísti: * Pósui adiutórium in poténte: et exaltávi eléctum de plebe mea.
88:27 Ipse invocábit me: Pater meus es tu: * Deus meus, et suscéptor salútis meæ.
88:20 Then you spoke in a vision to your holy ones, and you said: * I have placed help in one who is mighty, and I have exalted one chosen from my people.
88:21 I have found David my servant: * with my holy oil I have anointed him.
88:22 For my hand shall help him: * and my arm shall strengthen him.
88:23 The enemy shall have no advantage over him, * and the son of iniquity shall not afflict him.
88:24 And I will cut down his enemies before his face: * and those who hate him I will put to flight.
88:25 And my truth and my mercy shall be with him: * and in my name his horn shall be exalted.
88:26 And I will set his hand in the sea: * and his right hand in the rivers.
88:27 He shall cry out to me: You are my Father: * my God, and the support of my salvation.
88:28 And I will make him my firstborn, * high above the kings of the earth.
88:29 I will keep my mercy for him for ever: * and my covenant faithful to him.
88:30 And I will make his seed endure for ever and ever: * and his throne as the days of heaven.
88:31 But if his children forsake my law: * and do not walk in my judgments:
88:32 If they profane my statutes: * and do not keep my commandments:
88:33 I will visit their iniquities with a rod: * and their sins with stripes.
88:34 But my mercy I will not scatter from him: * nor will I be false to my truth.
88:35 Neither will I profane my covenant: * and the words that proceed from my lips I will not make void.
88:36 Once have I sworn by my holiness: I will not lie to David: * his seed shall endure for ever.
88:37 And his throne as the sun before me, * and as the moon, perfect for ever: and a faithful witness in heaven.
Amen.
Psalmus 88(39-53)
Psalm 88(39-53)
88:47 Úsquequo, Dómine, avértis in finem: * exardéscet sicut ignis ira tua?
88:53 Benedíctus Dóminus in ætérnum: * fiat, fiat.
88:39 But you have rejected and despised: * you have deferred your Anointed.
88:40 You have overthrown the covenant of your servant: * you have profaned his sanctuary on the earth.
88:41 You have broken down all his hedges: * you have made his stronghold a terror.
88:42 All who pass by the way have despoiled him: * he is become a reproach to his neighbors.
88:43 You have exalted the right hand of those who oppress him: * you have made glad all his enemies.
88:44 You have turned away the help of his sword: * and have not assisted him in battle.
88:45 You have broken him down from cleansing: * and have dashed his throne to the ground.
88:46 You have shortened the days of his time: * you have covered him with confusion.
88:47 How long, O Lord, will you turn away to the end: * shall your anger burn like fire?
88:48 Remember what my substance is: * for have you created all the children of men in vain?
88:49 Who is the man that shall live, and not see death: * that shall deliver his soul from the hand of the grave?
88:50 Where are your ancient mercies, O Lord, * as you swore to David in your truth?
88:51 Be mindful, O Lord, of the reproach of your servants, * which I have held in my bosom of many nations.
88:52 With which your enemies have reproached, O Lord, * with which they have reproached the change of your Anointed.
88:53 Blessed be the Lord for ever: * so be it, so be it.
℣ Glória Patri, et Fílio, * et Spirítui Sancto.
℣ Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Spirit.

Orémus.
Let us pray.
Deus, qui beátam Iuliánam Vírginem tuam extrémo morbo laborántem, pretióso Fílii tui Córpore mirabíliter recreáre dignátus es: concéde, quǽsumus; ut, eius intercedéntibus méritis, nos quoque eódem in mortis agóne refécti ac roboráti, ad cæléstem pátriam perducámur.
O God, who were pleased wondrously to refresh blessed Juliana your Virgin, suffering from a grievous illness, with the precious Body of your Son: grant, we pray, that, through the intercession of her merits, we too may be refreshed and strengthened by the same in the agony of death, and be led to the heavenly homeland.
Through the same Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
℟ Amen.
