Hymnus
Ætérna Christi múnera,
Apostolórum glóriam,
Palmas et hymnos débitos
Lætis canámus méntibus.
Ecclesiárum Príncipes,
Belli triumpháles duces,
Cæléstis aulæ mílites,
Et vera mundi lúmina.
Devóta Sanctórum fides,
Invícta spes credéntium,
Perfécta Christi cáritas
Mundi tyránnum cónterit.
In his Patérna glória,
In his triúmphat Fílius,
In his volúntas Spíritus,
Cælum replétur gáudio.
Patri, simúlque Fílio,
Tibíque Sancte Spíritus,
Sicut fuit, sit iúgiter
Sæclum per omne glória.
Amen.
Th' eternal gifts of Christ the King,
The Apostles' glory, let us sing;
And all with hearts of gladness raise
Due hymns of thankful love and praise.
For they the Church's princes are,
Triumphant leaders in the war,
The heavenly King's own warrior band,
True lights to lighten every land.
Theirs was the steadfast faith of saints,
The hope that never yields nor faints,
The love of Christ in perfect glow,
That lay the prince of this world low.
In them the Father's glory shone,
In them the Spirit's will was done,
The Son himself exults in them;
Joy fills the new Jerusalem.
Praise to the Father, with the Son,
And Holy Spirit, Three in One;
As ever was in ages past,
And so shall be while ages last.
Amen.

18:10 Timor Dómini sanctus, pérmanens in sǽculum sǽculi: * iudícia Dómini vera, iustificáta in semetípsa.

18:4 There are no speeches or conversations, * where their voices are not being heard.
18:5 Their sound has gone forth through all the earth: * and their words to the ends of the world.
18:6a He has placed his tabernacle in the sun: * and he is like a bridegroom coming out of his bedroom:
18:6b He has exulted like a giant running along the way, * (7a) his departure is from the summit of heaven:
18:7b And his course reaches all the way to its summit: * neither is there anyone who can hide himself from his heat.
18:8 The law of the Lord is immaculate, converting souls: * the testimony of the Lord is faithful, providing wisdom to little ones.
18:9 The justice of the Lord is right, rejoicing hearts: * the precepts of the Lord are brilliant, enlightening the eyes.
18:10 The fear of the Lord is holy, enduring for all generations: * the judgments of the Lord are true, justified in themselves.
18:11 Desirable beyond gold and many precious stones: * and sweeter than honey and the honeycomb.
18:12 For, indeed, your servant keeps them, * and in keeping them, there are many rewards.
18:13 Who can understand transgression? † From my hidden faults, cleanse me, O Lord: * (14a) and from those of others, spare your servant.
18:14b If they will have no dominion over me, then I will be immaculate: * and I will be cleansed from the greatest transgression.
18:15a And the eloquence of my mouth will be so as to please: * along with the meditation of my heart in your sight always.
18:15b O Lord, my helper, * and my redeemer.

33:4 Magnify the Lord with me: * and let us extol his name in itself.
33:5 I sought the Lord, and he heeded me: * and he carried me away from all my tribulations.
33:6 Approach him and be enlightened: * and your faces will not be confounded.
33:7 This poor one cried out, and the Lord heeded him: * and he saved him from all his tribulations.
33:8 The Angel of the Lord will encamp around those who fear him: * and he will rescue them.
33:9 Taste and see that the Lord is sweet: * blessed is the man who hopes in him.
33:10 Fear the Lord, all you his saints: * for there is no destitution for those who fear him.
33:11 The rich have been needy and hungry: * but those who seek the Lord will not be deprived of any good thing.
33:12 Come forward, sons. Listen to me: * I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
33:13 Which is the man who wills life, * who chooses to see good days?
33:14 Prohibit your tongue from evil: * and your lips from speaking deceit.
33:15 Turn away from evil, and do good: * inquire about peace, and pursue it.
33:16 The eyes of the Lord are on the just: * and his ears are with their prayers.
33:17 But the countenance of the Lord is upon those who do evil: * to perish the remembrance of them from the earth.
33:18 The just cried out, and the Lord heard them: * and he freed them from all their tribulations.
33:19 The Lord is near to those who are troubled in heart: * and he will save the humble in spirit.
33:20 Many are the afflictions of the just: * and from them all the Lord will free them.
33:21 The Lord preserves all of their bones: * not one of them shall be broken.
33:22 The death of a sinner is very harmful: * and those who hate the just will fare badly.
33:23 The Lord will redeem the souls of his servants: * and none of those who hope in him will fare badly.

De Epístola beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Romános
From the Epistle of the blessed Apostle Paul to the Romans
Rom 10:4-9
Heb 9:11-15
11 But Christ, standing as the High Priest of future good things, through a greater and more perfect tabernacle, one not made by hand, that is, not of this creation,
12 entered once into the Holy of Holies, having obtained eternal redemption, neither by the blood of goats, nor of calves, but by his own blood.
13 For if the blood of goats and oxen, and the ashes of a calf, when these are sprinkled, sanctify those who have been defiled, in order to cleanse the flesh,
14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the Holy Spirit has offered himself, immaculate, to God, cleanse our conscience from dead works, in order to serve the living God?
15 And thus he is the Mediator of the new testament, so that, by his death, he intercedes for the redemption of those transgressions which were under the former testament, so that those who have been called may receive the promise of an eternal inheritance.
℟ As the Lord was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw Peter and Andrew casting their nets into the sea, and he called them, saying:
Veníte post me, fáciam vos fíeri piscatóres hóminum.
Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.
℣ Erant enim piscatóres, et ait illis.
℣ For they were fishermen, and he said to them.
℟ Veníte post me, fáciam vos fíeri piscatóres hóminum.
℟ Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.
℣ Iube, Dómine, benedícere.
℣ Grant a blessing, O Lord.
Benedictio. Unigénitus Dei Fílius nos benedícere et adiuváre dignétur.
Benedictio. May the Only Begotten Son of God be pleased to bless and assist us.

Rom 10:10-15
Rom 10:10-15
10 For with the heart, we believe unto justice; but with the mouth, confession is unto salvation.
11 For Scripture says: "All those who believe in him shall not be confounded."
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek. For the same Lord is over all, richly in all who call upon him.
13 For all those who have called upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 Then in what way will those who have not believed in him call upon him? Or in what way will those who have not heard of him believe in him? And in what way will they hear of him without preaching?
15 And truly, in what way will they preach, unless they have been sent, just as it has been written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who evangelize peace, of those who evangelize what is good!"
℟ Mox ut vocem Dómini prædicántis audívit beátus Andréas, relíctis rétibus, quorum usu actúque vivébat,
℟ As soon as blessed Andrew heard the voice of the Lord preaching, he left his nets, by whose use and labor he lived,
Ætérnæ vitæ secútus est prǽmia largiéntem.
And followed the one who bestows the rewards of eternal life.
℣ This is he who, for the love of Christ, hung upon the Cross, and for his law endured his Passion.
℟ Ætérnæ vitæ secútus est prǽmia largiéntem.
℟ And followed the one who bestows the rewards of eternal life.
℣ Iube, Dómine, benedícere.
℣ Grant a blessing, O Lord.
Benedictio. Ad gáudia paradísi perdúcat nos misericórdia Christi.
Benedictio. May the mercy of Christ lead us to the joys of paradise.

Rom 10:16-21
Rom 10:16-21
16 But not all are obedient to the Gospel. For Isaiah says: "Lord, who has believed our report?"
17 Therefore, faith is from hearing, and hearing is through the Word of Christ.
18 But I say: Have they not heard? For certainly: "Their sound has gone forth throughout all the earth, and their words unto the limits of the whole world."
19 But I say: Has Israel not known? First, Moses says: "I will lead you into a rivalry with those who are not a nation; in the midst of a foolish nation, I will send you into wrath."
20 And Isaiah dares to say: "I was discovered by those who were not seeking me. I appeared openly to those who were not asking about me."
21 Then to Israel he says: "All day long I have stretched out my hands to a people who do not believe and who contradict me."

Andrew the Apostle, born at Bethsaida, a village of Galilee, brother of Peter, a disciple of John the Baptist, when he heard him speak of Christ, saying: "Behold the Lamb of God," followed Jesus and also led his own brother to the same Lord. Afterward, when he was fishing with his brother in the sea of Galilee, both were called before the other Apostles by Christ the Lord as he passed by, with these words: "Come after me, I will make you fishers of men"; and without any delay, leaving their nets, they followed him. After the Lord's Passion and Resurrection, Andrew, having come into Scythia of Europe — the province allotted to him for the sowing of the faith of Christ — and then having traversed Epirus and Thrace, converted innumerable men to Christ by his teaching and miracles. Going afterward to Patras in Achaia, and having led very many in that city to the evangelical truth, he freely rebuked Aegeas the proconsul, who was resisting the preaching of the Gospel, because one who wished to be considered a judge of men did not recognize Christ the Judge of all, being deceived by demons.
℟ The man of God was being led away to be crucified: but the people cried out with a loud voice, saying:
Innocens eius sanguis sine causa damnátur.
His innocent blood is condemned without cause.
℣ And as they led him away to be crucified, there arose a gathering of peoples crying out and saying.
℟ Innocens eius sanguis sine causa damnátur.
℟ His innocent blood is condemned without cause.
℣ Iube, Dómine, benedícere.
℣ Grant a blessing, O Lord.
Benedictio. Christus perpétuæ det nobis gáudia vitæ.
Benedictio. May Christ grant us the joys of eternal life.

Tum Ægéas irátus, Désine, inquit, Christum iactáre, cui simília verba nihil profuérunt, quóminus a Iudǽis crucifigerétur.
Then the enraged Aegeas said: Cease boasting of Christ, to whom similar words brought no profit, so that he was not crucified by the Jews. But as Andrew continued to preach freely about Christ — that he had offered himself to be crucified for the salvation of the human race — Aegeas interrupted him with impious speech and finally urged him, for his own good, to sacrifice to the gods. To whom Andrew replied: I daily sacrifice to almighty God, who is one and true, not the flesh of bulls nor the blood of goats, but the immaculate Lamb upon the altar; whose flesh, after all the people of believers have eaten, the Lamb who was sacrificed remains whole and living. Whereupon, inflamed with anger, Aegeas ordered him to be thrown into prison, whence the people would have readily freed Andrew, had he not himself calmed the multitude, earnestly begging them not to hinder him as he hastened toward the most longed-for crown of martyrdom.
℟ O bona crux, quæ decórem et pulchritúdinem de membris Dómini suscepísti; áccipe me ab homínibus, et redde me magístro meo:
℟ O good Cross, which received beauty and comeliness from the limbs of the Lord; receive me from among men, and restore me to my Master:
Ut per te me recípiat, qui per te me redémit.
That through you he may receive me, who through you redeemed me.
℣ Beátus Andréas expánsis mánibus ad cælum orábat, dicens: Salva me, bona crux.
℣ Blessed Andrew, with hands outstretched toward heaven, prayed, saying: Save me, O good Cross.
℟ Ut per te me recípiat, qui per te me redémit.
℟ That through you he may receive me, who through you redeemed me.
℣ Iube, Dómine, benedícere.
℣ Grant a blessing, O Lord.

Therefore, shortly after being brought to the tribunal, since Aegeas could no longer endure Andrew proclaiming the mysteries of the Cross and reproaching him for his own impiety, he ordered him to be raised on a cross and to imitate the death of Christ. Andrew, led to the place of martyrdom, when he had seen the cross, began to cry out from afar: O good cross, that received beauty from the members of the Lord, long desired, earnestly loved, sought without ceasing, and at last made ready for a longing soul — take me from among men and restore me to my Master, so that through you he who redeemed me through you may receive me back. And so he was fixed to the cross, on which hanging alive for two days and never ceasing to preach the faith of Christ, he passed to him whose death he had yearned to imitate. All this the priests and deacons of Achaia who recorded his Passion attest they heard and saw as it has been related. His bones were first translated to Constantinople under the Emperor Constantine, then to Amalfi. His head, under Pope Pius II, was brought to Rome and placed in the basilica of Saint Peter.

98:2 The Lord is great in Zion: * and he is high above all peoples.

In illo témpore: Ambulans Iesus iuxta mare Galilǽæ, vidit duos fratres, Simónem, qui vocátur Petrus, et Andréam fratrem eius, mitténtes rete in mare. Et réliqua.
Homilía sancti Gregórii Papæ
At that time: And Jesus, walking near the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea. And so forth.

Homilia 5 in Evangelia
You have heard, dearest brethren, how Peter and Andrew, at the sound of a single command, left their nets and followed the Redeemer. They had not yet seen him work any miracle; they had not yet heard anything from him about the reward of eternal recompense: and yet, at one command of the Lord, they forgot what they seemed to possess. How great are the miracles we behold, by how many scourges we are afflicted, by how many harshnesses of threats we are deterred, and yet we disdain to follow him when he calls.
℟ Orávit sanctus Andréas, dum respíceret in cælum, et voce magna clamávit et dixit: Tu es Deus meus, quem vidi: ne me patiáris ab ímpio iúdice depóni:
℟ Saint Andrew prayed, looking up to heaven, and cried out with a loud voice and said: You are my God, whom I have seen; do not allow me to be cast down by an impious judge:
Quia virtútem sanctæ crucis agnóvi.
for I have known the power of the holy Cross.
℣ Tu es magíster meus Christus, quem diléxi, quem cognóvi, quem conféssus sum: tantúmmodo in ista voce exáudi me.
℣ You are my master, Christ, whom I have loved, whom I have known, whom I have confessed: only in this voice hear me.
℟ Quia virtútem sanctæ crucis agnóvi.
℟ for I have known the power of the holy Cross.
℣ Iube, Dómine, benedícere.
℣ Grant a blessing, O Lord.
Benedictio. Divínum auxílium máneat semper nobíscum.
Benedictio. May the divine assistance remain always with us.

He who admonishes us of conversion now sits in heaven; he has already submitted the necks of the nations to the yoke of faith, has already laid low the glory of the world, and now, as its ruins multiply, he announces that the day of his strict judgment is drawing near: and yet our proud mind is still unwilling willingly to abandon that which it daily loses against its will. What then, dearest brethren, what shall we say at his judgment — we who are moved neither by precepts nor corrected by blows to withdraw from love of the present age?
℟ Videns crucem Andréas exclamávit, dicens: O crux admirábilis, o crux desiderábilis, o crux quæ per totum mundum rútilas:
℟ Seeing the cross, Andrew cried out, saying: O admirable cross, O desirable cross, O cross that shines throughout the whole world: *
Súscipe discípulum Christi, ac per te me recípiat, qui per te móriens me redémit.
Receive the disciple of Christ, and through you may he who died upon you to redeem me receive me.
℣ O good cross, which received the beauty and comeliness of the members of the Lord.
℟ Súscipe discípulum Christi, ac per te me recípiat, qui per te móriens me redémit.
℟ Receive the disciple of Christ, and through you may he who died upon you to redeem me receive me.
℣ Glória Patri, et Fílio, * et Spirítui Sancto.
℣ Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Spirit.
℟ Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
℟ As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, * world without end. Amen.
℟ Súscipe discípulum Christi, ac per te me recípiat, qui per te móriens me redémit.
℟ Receive the disciple of Christ, and through you may he who died upon you to redeem me receive me.
℣ Iube, Dómine, benedícere.
℣ Grant a blessing, O Lord.
Benedictio. Ad societátem cívium supernórum perdúcat nos Rex Angelórum.
Benedictio. May the King of Angels lead us to the company of the citizens on high.

But perhaps someone may say to himself in silent thoughts: What, or how much, did either of these fishermen leave at the Lord's word, who had scarcely anything at all? But in this matter, dearest brethren, we ought to weigh the affection rather than the wealth. He leaves much who retains nothing for himself; he leaves much who, however little it may be, forsakes everything. Certainly we both possess what we have with desire, and what we do not have we seek with longing. Much, therefore, did Peter and Andrew leave, since each of them also forsook even the desire of possessing.
℟ Ecce dies véniunt, dicit Dóminus, et suscitábo David germen iustum: et regnábit rex, et sápiens erit, et fáciet iudícium et iustítiam in terra:
℟ Behold, the days are approaching, says the Lord, and I will raise up to David a righteous branch; and a king shall reign and be wise, and shall do judgment and justice in the land:
And this is the name they will call him: * The Lord, our Just One.
℣ In diébus illis salvábitur Iuda, et Israël habitábit confidénter.
℣ In those days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell in confidence.
℟ Et hoc est nomen quod vocábunt eum:
