Grant, we pray, almighty God, that we may follow with fitting devotion the faith of your blessed Martyr Peter, who merited to obtain the palm of martyrdom for the spread of that same faith.

O God, who show the light of your truth to those who go astray, so that they may be able to return to the path of righteousness: grant to all who are counted by the Christian profession both to reject what is hostile to that name, and to follow what is fitting.
