Nostro refúsus péctori.

Flamméscat igne cáritas,
Accéndat ardor próximos.

Come Holy Ghost who ever One
Art with the Father and the Son,
It is the hour, our souls possess
With thy full flood of holiness.

Let flesh and heart and lips and mind
Sound forth our witness to mankind;
And love light up our mortal frame,
Till others catch the living flame.

Almighty Father, hear our cry,
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord most High,
Who, with the Holy Ghost and thee,
Doth live and reign eternally.

Psalmus 39(2-9)

Psalm 39(2-9)

39:2 With expectation I have waited for the Lord, * and he turned to me.
39:3 And he heard my prayers: * and he brought me out of the pit of misery and the mire of dregs.
39:3 And he set my feet upon a rock: * and directed my steps.
39:4 And he put a new song into my mouth, * a hymn to our God.
39:4 Many shall see and shall fear: * and shall hope in the Lord.
39:5 Blessed is the man whose hope is in the name of the Lord: * and who has not regarded vanities and lying follies.
39:6 Many things you have done, O Lord my God, your wonders: * and in your thoughts there is none like you.
39:6 I have declared and I have spoken: * they are multiplied above number.
39:7 Sacrifice and oblation you did not desire: * but you have pierced ears for me.
39:7 Burnt offering and sin offering you did not require: * then I said: Behold, I come.
39:8 In the head of the book it is written of me that I should do your will: * O my God, I have desired it, and your law in the midst of my heart.

Glória Patri, et Fílio, * et Spirítui Sancto.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Spirit.

Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, * world without end. Amen.

Psalmus 39(10-14)

Psalm 39(10-14)

39:12 Tu autem, Dómine, ne longe fácias miseratiónes tuas a me: * misericórdia tua et véritas tua semper suscepérunt me.
39:13 Quóniam circumdedérunt me mala, quorum non est númerus: * comprehendérunt me iniquitátes meæ, et non pótui ut vidérem.
39:13 Multiplicátæ sunt super capíllos cápitis mei: * et cor meum derelíquit me.
39:14 Compláceat tibi, Dómine, ut éruas me: * Dómine, ad adiuvándum me réspice.

39:10 I have declared your justice in the great assembly, * behold, I will not restrain my lips: O Lord, you know it.
39:11 I have not hidden your justice in my heart: * I have declared your truth and your salvation.
39:11 I have not hidden your mercy and your truth * from a great assembly.
39:12 But you, O Lord, do not withhold your compassion from me: * your mercy and your truth have always upheld me.
39:13 For evils without number have surrounded me: * my iniquities have overtaken me, and I could not see.
39:13 They are multiplied above the hairs of my head: * and my heart has forsaken me.
39:14 Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: * O Lord, look to my aid.

Amen.

Psalmus 39(15-18)

39:15 Let them be confounded and ashamed together, who seek my soul * to take it away.
39:15 Let them be turned back and put to shame, * who desire evil for me.
39:16 Let them straightway bear their confusion, * who say to me: Well done, well done.
39:17 Let all who seek you exult and rejoice in you: * and let those who love your salvation always say: The Lord be magnified.
39:18 But I am poor and needy: * the Lord is solicitous for me.
39:18 You are my helper and my protector: * O my God, do not delay.

Amen.

Capitulum

Sir 31:8-9

Sir 31:8-9

Blessed is the rich man who is found to be without blemish. And blessed is he who has not gone after gold, nor placed his hope in money or treasures. Who is he? For we should praise him. For he has done wonderful things in his life.

Deo grátias.

Thanks be to God.

Sana ánimam meam, * Quia peccávi tibi.

Heal my soul, * for I have sinned against you.

Sana ánimam meam, * Quia peccávi tibi.

Heal my soul, * for I have sinned against you.

Ego dixi: Dómine, miserére mei.

I said: O Lord, have mercy on me.

Quia peccávi tibi.

For I have sinned against you.

Amen.

Sana ánimam meam, * Quia peccávi tibi.

Heal my soul, * for I have sinned against you.

Adiútor meus, esto, ne derelínquas me.

Be my helper; do not forsake me.

Neque despícias me, Deus, salutáris meus.

Neither despise me, O God my Savior.
