Post resurrectiónem Iesus in monte Galilǽæ conspícitur, ibíque adorátur; licet quidam dúbitent, et dubitátio eórum nostram áugeat fidem. Tunc maniféstius osténditur Thomæ, et latus láncea vulnerátum, et manus fixas demónstrat clavis. Accédens Iesus locútus est eis, dicens: Data est mihi omnis potéstas in cælo et in terra. Illi potéstas data est, qui paulo ante crucifíxus, qui sepúltus in túmulo, qui mórtuus iacúerat, qui póstea resurréxit. In cælo autem et in terra potéstas data est: ut qui ante regnábat in cælo, per fidem credéntium regnet et in terris.
After the Resurrection, Jesus is seen on a mountain in Galilee, and there he is adored; though some doubt, and their doubt increases our faith. Then he shows himself more clearly to Thomas, and demonstrates the side wounded by the lance and the hands fastened by nails. Jesus, drawing near, spoke to them, saying: All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Authority has been given to him who shortly before had been crucified, who had been buried in a tomb, who had lain dead, who afterwards rose again. But authority has been given in heaven and on earth, so that he who previously reigned in heaven might also reign on earth through the faith of believers.

Going, therefore, teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. First they teach all nations, then they immerse those who have been taught in water. For it cannot come about that a body should receive the sacrament of baptism unless the soul has first received the truth of faith. They are baptized, however, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: so that those whose divinity is one may have one bestowal; and the name of the Trinity is the one God.

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. The order is paramount: he commanded the Apostles first to teach all nations, then to immerse those who had been taught in the sacrament of faith, and after faith and baptism to instruct them in what was to be observed. And lest we suppose the things commanded to be light and few, he added: "All things whatsoever I have commanded you" — so that all who have believed and have been baptized in the Trinity may do all that has been commanded. And behold, I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the age. He who promises that he will be with the disciples until the consummation of the age both shows that they will always live, and that he will never depart from those who believe.
