At Rome, the birth of Saint Robert Bellarmine, Confessor, of the Society of Jesus, and Cardinal and former Bishop of Capua, most renowned for holiness, learning, and very many labors undertaken for the defense of the Catholic faith and the Apostolic See; whom Pope Pius the Eleventh, Supreme Pontiff, adorned with the honors of the Saints and declared a Doctor of the universal Church, and appointed his feast to be kept on the thirteenth of May.
